MES in Environment & Sustainability, Western University

Will Diebel is an Operations Management and Sustainability PhD student at the Ivey Business School. His thesis research examines how companies, and their supply chains, are accounting for their environmental impacts over time. He focuses primarily on reporting transparency and climate change impacts, such as carbon disclosure and emissions. He uses a mix of empirical methods including econometric modelling and qualitative case studies to better understand how reporting transparency is becoming institutionalized, and how such reporting affects subsequent environmental impacts. His thesis research was recognized as a Best Paper (Top 10% of all submissions) and finalist for Best Student Paper at the Academy of Management Annual Meeting in 2021.
