Center for Corporate Governance and Business Ethics
At the Vienna University of Applied Sciences for Management and Communication, sustainability broadly defined (corporate governance, corporate social responsibility, business ethics) is integrated in the teaching of the academic departments (entrepreneurship; HR; marketing; finance).
Our Center is embedded in all these teaching programs and is responsible for the externally funded research projects in these areas.
AT CCGBE, we focus on the research areas Corporate Citizenship, Business Ethics, Corporate Governance and Business Strategy. Our fundamental aim is the advancement of interdisciplinary cooperation – in particular between economics, management and philosophy – as well as in public debates and in dialogues with the practicing professions on contemporary topics of the field Corporate Governance & Business Ethics. Another purpose of the CCGBE is the integration of the subject ‘Business Ethics’ in the curriculum of the Vienna University of Applied Sciences for Management and Communication and reinforcing the research capacities in this field.
We presently conduct research in the following areas:
- Corporate Governance and Business Strategy
- Strategic, sustainable and opportunity-oriented management of SMEs and Family Businesses
- Political CSR
In addition, we offer academic teaching in these areas.
We also collaborate in interdisciplinary projects involving active exchange with Austrian and international companies, as well as with NGOs, chambers of commerce, and other actors of the public sector.
