Energy and Food Associations Join NBS

We’re pleased to announce three new additions to NBS’s Industry Association Council: the Canadian Electricity Association, Canadian Energy Pipeline Association, and Ontario Food Industry Environmental Coalition.

Canadian Electricity Association

The Canadian Electricity Association represents the organizations that generate, transmit and distribute electrical energy to industrial, commercial, residential and institutional customers across Canada. Their members include electric utilities such as BC Hydro, Manitoba Hydro and Nova Scotia Power, Inc. as well as companies that support the electricity industry through materials, technology and services.

Canadian Energy Pipeline Association

The Canadian Energy Pipeline Association (CEPA) represents Canada’s transmission pipeline companies. Their members transport 97 per cent of Canada’s daily natural gas and on-shore crude oil production from producing regions to markets throughout Canada and the United States. Members include pipeline companies such as Enbridge, Keystone and TransCanada.

Ontario Food Industry Environmental Coalition

The Ontario Food Industry Environmental Coalition (OFIEC) is the leading voice on sustainability for Ontario's food and beverage manufacturers. With members such as the Baking Association of Canada, Ontario Dairy Council, and Wine Council of Ontario, they represent their members’ interests on sustainability issues and are a trusted information resource for all parties with a stake in food and beverage sustainability.

About NBS’s Industry Association Council

Through its Industry Association Council (IAC), NBS creates a space for industry associations to work together on challenging sustainability issues. The purpose of the IAC is to: 
  1. Identify the important sustainability challenges of association members.
  2. Address members’ sustainability challenges with best practice, knowledge and education.
  3. Identify areas of collective interest that warrant further research or future actions. 
IAC members include the Retail Council of Canada, the Hotel Associaiton of Canada, the Automotive Industry Association and 12 other leading national organizations.
