Who We Are
The Network for Business Sustainability (NBS) is a non-profit advancing sustainable development to build a fairer and more environmentally sound future. This privacy policy is about the data you share with us by using our website: https://nbs.net.
Privacy Policy
At the Network for Business Sustainability, the protection of your personal information is a priority. NBS collects information about users of the site, including their e-mail addresses. In addition, information may be collected in areas of the site where users are asked to provide information, such as registration for newsletters or events, applying for employment, or participating in user posting areas such as comments, discussion forums, and surveys. NBS may verify or combine this information with information that NBS has already gathered from other sources. This information may be sufficient to enable NBS to identify you personally.
NBS’s intention is to gather information so that it may serve you better and never to gather information without your knowledge. NBS may compile and use the information it gathers to keep you informed of upcoming events, to send you subscription information, to customize your future visits to the site, and to offer new products and services that may be of interest to you. Unless required to do so by law, NBS DOES NOT PROVIDE ITS ELECTRONIC MAILING LIST, OR OTHER INFORMATION GATHERED THROUGH THE SITE, TO THIRD PARTIES.
NBS is housed within the Ivey Business School at Western University. For more information on Western University’s Privacy policies, please visit the Freedom of Information and Privacy Office website: http://www.uwo.ca/univsec/privacy.
Comments
Our comments form uses WP LinkPress. WP LinkPress is a 3rd party plugin integration. It makes use of the official LinkedIn API, but it is not created by, affiliated with, or supported by LinkedIn Corporation.
When leaving a comment on the site, WP LinkPress will ask for authorized access to your LinkedIn account and will fetch your name and profile picture, which will then be displayed on the site alongside your comment once you’ve submitted it. All future website visitors will be able to view your name, comment, and profile picture.
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
Embedded Content From Other Websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Cookies
NBS may use cookies to track usage and provide simplified access to some areas of the site. Cookies can be disabled or controlled by setting the appropriate preferences within your web browser.
How Long We Retain Your Data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
What Rights You Have Over Your Data
If you have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where We Send Your Data
Visitor comments will be checked through an automated spam detection service.
