Alternative Fuels Leader Joins NBS

NBS is pleased to welcome Westport Innovations to its Leadership Council in 2013.

Westport Innovations Inc. is a global leader in alternative fuel technologies that allow engines to operate on clean-burning fuels. These fuels include hydrogen, compressed and liquefied natural gas, and biofuels such as landfill gas.

The company’s alternative-fuel solutions address global problems associated with transportation, such as oil supply and energy security, rising air pollution in the world’s cities, increasing greenhouse gas emissions linked to global climate change. Their core technologies include fuel injectors, compressors, engine fuel systems and cryogenic tanks and pumps. Worldwide, Westport and its affiliates have filed more than 700 patent applications, relating to more than 180 inventions.

About the NBS Leadership Council

Every year, Leadership Council members identify their sustainability challenges – the issues on which their organizations need authoritative answers and reliable insights.

Membership on the Leadership Council is by invitation only. Together, our Leadership Council represents the major sectors of the economy, bringing to the table diverse perspectives and priorities. This cross-sectoral collaboration is key to producing frame-breaking ideas that change management practice and create new, sustainable business models.
